“Man sometimes it takes a long time to sound like yourself.” -Miles Davis

It takes a long time to sound like yourself.

Amongst all of the noise I see I was just trying

to get to know myself

to heal myself

to hear† myself.

When I ventured into the unseen , surrounded by the sounds of nature

Silence is what I began to weep

on the outskirts (fringe) of what was known

The way balance would have it , off balance

on the edge — about to plunge

head first in the water of unknowing

There will be far more versions of I

that will find myself in this very position

hanging on to the breath see sawing this ledge …

Each drip and drop getting closer to what all this means.

Submerged in silence

Quieting peace

Rising to the surface

I can finally speak .

Contagious Revelations

So I must sing

What i’m to communicate

is submerging and surfacing deeper within me
